We have been overwhelmed at the generosity of our extended GreenLamp community during our “Give 19 for COVID-19” crowdfunding appeal. Thanks to your support in these exceptional times we have so far successfully raised over CHF 21,000 through online and private donations. This has meant vital supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) could be promptly delivered to our courageous, dedicated midwives working on the frontline in rural Ethiopia, allowing them to continue their life-saving work in a safer environment.
Thanks to our strong working partnership with Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, midwives were supplied with masks, aprons, gloves, and disinfectants so they can continue to help keep their communities safe and stop the spread of the virus. We are especially grateful to Zelalem Belete, Dean of Hamlin College of Midwives, Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia CEO, Tesfaye Mamo and Tefera Tesfamichael, Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia GreenLamp Project Coordinator, whose prompt responses, dedication and hard work meant the early supplies have been delivered so quickly to rural health centres. Not an easy task when PPE is in short supply and roads are treacherous!
Thanks once again to all our donors for your support.
