We are delighted to invite you to our first event of 2026. Join us at our  fundraiser Bookreading with Apéro and LIT Awards Ceremony on Friday 6 March.

This special afternoon will feature Edinburgh-based author and surgeon Mhairi Collie, who will share her experiences in Africa and how they inspired her novel The Bright Fabric of Life. The book tells the story of a surgeon and a woman with fistula in Ethiopia, drawing on Mhairi’s own work across Africa. As a consultant surgeon and co‑founder of a charity in Uganda treating women with childbirth injuries, she donates all profits from her book to this cause.

We are also delighted to officially receive our 2025 LIT Design Awards Spotlight Prize in an Awards Ceremony with the LIT Awards’ Founder and Director Astrid Hébert.

This is a partnership fundraising event. The price for the ticket is CHF 100, covering event costs plus a donation towards GreenLamp projects.

You also have an opportunity to pre-order Mhairi’s book, and collect your copy at the event. Proceeds from book sales will go directly to the charity Mhairi supports for women with childbirth injuries. The purchase of the book is voluntary – please use the link below to pre-order your copy.
